Education & Health for all
CHRSW has been working for health, education .family planning, RCH, problems of adolescents, human rights, women’s issues, ‘Communal Harmony’ and awareness among homeless people, poor Muslims and Dalits. CHRSW has been very keen on empowerment of women, specially the homeless woman and Muslim women of conservative and poor families. Women are made aware of their rights and laws relating to them.. Victims of domestic violence and other kinds of injustices are helped and supported counseling is also done for such women .Mohalla Meetings are organized for awareness programs. Organization has also been trying to get women involved in income generation activities. For encouraging income generation activities among Muslim women we are in the process of organizing two training programs, durrie making and computer hardware training for 143 Muslim girls who observe ‘Purdah’
We tell them that birth control is not against Islam. Similarly talking about ill effects of the “child marriage” on the health and future of children. We tell them that in Islam consent of bride is essential for marriage. So if the bride is a child who doesn’t understand full meaning of marriage how can she give a valid consent. Thus we make them understand that neither birth control nor marriages after childhood are anti-Islam.
For our work with Youth we have formed 42 ‘youth forums’ in five districts (Jaipur, Tonk, Jhunjhunu, Sikar and Jodhpur) of Rajasthan. Several meeting and three workshops with youth have been organized to discuss reproductive health, RTI, STD, HIV/AIDS, ill effects of early marriage and early motherhood, drug and alcohol addiction. Several Youth have participated in rallies on various subjects. Organization has been motivating youth free themselves from prejudices based castism, regionalism and communalisms etc. Youth have also been counseled and guided on various issues including employment.
